Madurai Train Fireलखनऊ से रामेश्वरम जा रही ट्रेन में लगे एक प्राइवेट पार्टी कोच में आग लगने से आठ लोगों की मौत हो गई है। गौरतलब है कि लखनऊ से रामेश्वरम एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन जब मदुरई के पास पहुंची तो आज सुबह लगभग 5 बजे ट्रेन में आग लग गई। जिस समय ट्रेन में आग लगी उसे समय ट्रेन मदुरई यार्ड जंक्शन पर रुकी हुई थी। इस आग लगने के हादसे में आठ लोगों की मौत हो गई है जबकि 20 से अधिक लोग घायल है। बताया जाता है कि कुछ यात्री डिब्बे में अवैध तरीके से गैस सिलेंडर आए थे जिसके कारण ट्रेन में आग लग गई।

मृतकों में से दो की पहचान उत्तर प्रदेश के सपदमन सिंह (64) और मिथिलेश्वरी (65) के रूप में की गई है। ट्रेन सुबह करीब 3.47 बजे स्टेशन पर पहुंची थी और लखनऊ से लगे इस प्राइवेट पार्टी कोच को ट्रेन से अलग कर मदुरै स्टेबलिंग लाइन पर रखा गया था। “आग लगने पर कई यात्री कोच से बाहर निकल आए। कुछ यात्री प्लेटफ़ॉर्म पर ही उतर गए थे,” रेलवे विभाग की एक विज्ञप्ति में कहा गया है।

“प्राइवेट पार्टी कोचों ने 17 अगस्त को लखनऊ से अपनी यात्रा शुरू की थी, और रविवार को कोल्लम से चेन्नई अनंतपुरी एक्सप्रेस द्वारा चेन्नई लौटने वाले थे। उनका चेन्नई से लखनऊ लौटने का कार्यक्रम था।”

Eight people have died after a fire broke out in the coach of a train going from Lucknow to Rameswaram. According to the passengers, when the Lucknow-Rameshwaram Express train reached near Madurai, the train caught fire at around 5 am today. The train was halted at Madurai Yard Junction when the fire broke out. Eight people have died in this fire accident while more than 20 people are injured. It is said that gas cylinders were illegally brought in some passenger compartment due to which the train caught fire.

Two of the deceased have been identified as Sapdaman Singh (64) and Mithileshwari (65) from Uttar Pradesh. The train had arrived at the station at around 3.47 am and the private coach was detached from the train and kept at Madurai Stabling line. “Many passengers had gotten out of the coach on noticing fire. Some passengers had gotten down at the platform itself,” a release from the railway department said.

“The party coaches had started their journey from Lucknow on August 17, and were scheduled to return to Chennai on Sunday by the Kollam to Chennai Ananthapuri express. They were scheduled to return to Lucknow from Chennai.,” the release added.
