Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stressed the need for insulating the world against the next pandemic. He said the focus on sustainable lifestyles that stop ecological degradation must be ensured. Mr. Modi called upon the start-up community to take the lead in working with collective spirit and a human-centric approach to overcome this challenge. The Prime Minister was delivering the keynote address yesterday at the VivaTech which is one of the largest digital and start-up events in Europe.
The Prime Minister said India is adaptable and agile even in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. He invited the world to invest in India based on the five pillars of – Talent, Market, Capital, Eco-system and, the culture of openness.
Mr. Modi said innovation can help where convention fails. He said digital technology helped people cope, connect, comfort and console during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Prime Minister said indigenous IT technologies helped our fight against COVID19. While the Aarogya Setu enabled effective contact tracing, the CoWin platform helped ensure COVID Vaccines to millions. He said two vaccines are being made in India and more are in the development or trial stage. Mr. Modi added that Aadhaar helped provide timely support to people during the pandemic.
